Michael Blumenthal writes wonderful satire. From earlier collections, there's "The New Yorker Poem": "Always / mention water (the made/acting tears / that washed like tide against tier cheeks) / and wildflowers (primrose, meadowsweet, / blazing star)." Or those scintillant lyrics whose titles alone set things in motion: "Jungians & Freudians at the Joseph Campbell Lecture," "Dancing with a de-constructionist," or the charming "Back from the Word-Processing Course, I Say to My Old Typewriter."
