TAIPEI, May 18 Asia Pulse - President Chen Shui-bian said Thursday he fully understands that resumption of constructive dialogue between Taipei and Beijing is the best guarantee for peace in the Taiwan Strait.
Chen made the remarks in a televised conference via satellite with members of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), a New York-based U.S. think tank. Chen held a similar conference with members of the influential U.S. think tank last October.
During the 45-minute TV conference, Chen exchanged views with CFR members on the delicate Taipei-Washington-Beijing relations and other related topics.
