The provincial government will invest C$1.8 million to help seven Ontario companies make certified Halal foods and capture new, international markets, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Brian Coburn and Cambridge MPP Gerry Martiniuk announced.
Al Safa Halal Inc., Reuven Meat Products, Port Colborne Poultry Ltd., D.C. Foods, P & H Foods, Golden Valley Farms Inc., and Mortimer's Fine Foods will
process and market products according to the strict requirements of Halal - the Muslim law that regulates food preparation. At least 15 items such as kabobs, meat pies, sausages and lasagna will be distributed across North ...
