16 STUDENTS SELECTED FOR BONNER SCHOLARSHIPS.(PEOPLE & PLACES)

Sixteen first-year students at Guilford College were named a Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Scholar this fall.

Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Scholars receive financial support during their four years at Guilford in exchange for participating in community service programs. Each year, Guilford selects no more than 20 first-year students who rank in the top 40 percent of their high school class and who qualify for financial assistance to receive Bonner Scholarships.

Students complete 150 hours of community service each semester and an additional 240 hours of service over the summer.
