GREENSBORO OFFICER CHARGED / A GREENSBORO POLICE OFFICER IS SUSPENDED AFTER A BREAKING AND ENTERING INCIDENT IN ALAMANCE COUNTY.(TRIAD/STATE)

A Greensboro police officer was suspended last week after he was charged with breaking into a house in Burlington.

Officer Clifton Fox, 28, of Crestwood Drive in Alamance County was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering June 25, after deputies from the Alamance County Sheriff's Department found him in the house at 187 Bass Mountain Road, said Capt. Kenneth Evans of the Alamance County Sheriff's Department.

Fox, who has been with the Greensboro Police Department since 1991, had been evicted from the Alamance house that day and allegedly returned at 11:55 p.m. to take some of his belongings, Evans said.
