The looming, frightening-clown figure of David Thomas is still familiar to most as the distressing vocal disruptor of Pere Ubu, those original 1970s avant-punk noise-niks.
That band still exists, off and on, while Thomas alternates with his more improvisatory combo, Two Pale Boys.
