A recent study says that more husbands bail out of a marriage if the wife gets seriously ill than if the situation is reversed. In sickness or in health, indeed.
My husband and I didn't mention health concerns in our own vows. At least I don't think we did. I can't remember them past the first line, and they're tucked into the white "Our Wedding Day" album buried in some box in the cubby over the garage.
We probably should have said something about health care, though, given how many times the topic has come up over the course of our marriage. Who thinks about cholesterol on their wedding day? Or braces? If I knew ...
