The lure of food brought more than 1,000 students, staff and residents to North Central College, however not all of them knew what they were celebrating.
The free hot dogs, hamburgers and other goodies were there for the college's Cornerstone Day in conjunction with its Arts and Letters Festival. Both have been annual events at North Central since 1995.
The celebration marked the college's 131st anniversary at its Naperville location. The school was founded in 1861 in Plainfield but moved to Naperville in 1870.
