Colorado Rockies closers are the Rodney Dangerfields of baseball.
There's no respect.
And this is one time that Coors Field can be blamed.
Hitters have their offensive numbers discounted by the sporting public because of Coors Field, but nobody wants to give pitchers a break. And no pitcher is at bigger risk than a closer, whose job is to come in with the game on the line and shut the opponent down.
Jose Jimenez doesn't get much buildup when closers in baseball are discussed because of his overall numbers a year ago, his first as a reliever, much less a closer. He went 5-2 with a 3.18 ...
