Between January 1997 and January 2001, the household penetration rate for camcorders in the U.S. increased by 50 percent, moving from 26 percent to 39 percent. This places it among a select group of consumer electronics products that have lead the way in the technology revolution of the past decade. Now, as a new millennium begins, so too does a new revolution, born from the first. It is the digital revolution, and once again, camcorders are at the forefront.
