EPA ANNOUNCES DECISION ON ARIZONA IMPAIRED WATER BODIES

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today released for public review a listing of waterway pollution problems in Arizona. This concludes the first step of a new program designed to help clean up and protect waterways throughout the nation.

This program required every state to survey its waterways and to develop lists of those that are not meeting water quality standards. For some of the waterways, the states identified possible pollution sources. EPA approved portions of the state's lists, and recommended that additional water bodies be added.
