THE fast-growing Homestyle stores group is raising [pound]13.3m at 405p a share. Part will go on refurbishing the rest of its Harveys furniture chain and [pound]5m towards buying Sleepmasters and its 71 bed shops. Sleepmasters has a larger choice and wider price range than Homestyle's Bensons Beds. The shares rose 21/2p to 440p on a 27pc increase to [pound]17.9m in full-year pretax profits and a 39pc dividend lift to 18.8p.
UBS income drop
SWISS bank UBS's net income fell 29pc to [pound]660m for the first quarter. But pay and bonuses at its UK and US investment banking arm, UBS Warburg, rose 16.5pc to [pound]2.5bn. Unlike rivals, it says it is not planning job losses. ...
