IT was the kind of experience that would shatter the nerves of young daredevil sailors everywhere.
But 72-year- old Pamela Steward yesterday appeared with barely a hair out of place to tell of her death-defying underwater struggle after her yacht sank in a collision with a ferry.
For 90 agonising seconds, she was battered by a vicious ebb tide that dragged her down beneath the ferry.
With barely enough time to snatch a lungful of air before she went under, the retired radiographer thought she was on the edge of death as she fought and failed to claw her way to the surface.
