The fear of having bad breath is so great for some people that it dominates their lives.
Liz Hodgkinson reports
MOST of us experience chronic, if fairly low-level anxiety about whether we might have bad breath, hence the huge and ever-growing breath-freshening industry. But for some people, apparently, this fear is so ntense that it blights their lives. Halitophobics, as they are now known, refuse to attend any social gathering in case they offend others with their often imaginary -fetid breath.
