Microsoft Corp's MSN Internet services network has begun a global roll-out of its new MSN Explorer consumer Internet software.

Launched in the US last October, the free software combines localised web services, such as the MSN Hotmail web-based e-mail service and MSN Search, with local content portals, to enable users to access e-mail, search, shop, send and receive instant messages, surf and check local weather and news through a personal interface.
