BARRY FAICHNIE used to pull his baseball cap down low on his head and shield his dark eyes from a world that had shown him only misery and pain.
These days, his cap sits as high as a crown atop an unruly mop of red hair and his eyes focus like lasers between baseball and bat as he concentrates on hitting his next home run.
