May 22--COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho--In Kootenai County, an elderly population is moving in, drawn to a nationally known retirement area. Just a few miles east in Shoshone County, older residents are being left behind as young families leave the economically depressed Silver Valley.
The result, in both counties, is an aging population.
