WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Students in Catholic schools achieve higher levels of reading proficiency than their public school counterparts, according to a report based on National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) test scores.

The report, released by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA), measured the average reading ability of 500 to 970 randomly sampled Catholic students in grades 3, 7, and 11.
