A group of Venezuelan investors - Gerencia Nacional - has acquired 7% of shares in Proagro, the poultry group, from AGP for Bs$62 per share and thus Bs$3.3bil in total. The group includes the company's national director Ernesto Vogeler. The money received will be used to pay off debt until it stands at Bs$5.6bil. AGP acquired Protinal/Proagro in 1997 and now owns 54% plus the voting rights on the 7% it has just sold. The rest of shares are free-floating. ...
