Venus Beauty Institute director Tonic Marshall did not attend film school for formal training; she learned hands-on. "Movies are my life," she has declared. "I started life as a spectator: I began going to the movies at a very early age, and I saw a lot of films! I've been an actress, an assistant, and I've done some editing." She was, in fact, born into the movie business. Her mother is French actress Micheline Presle, veteran of over 120 films to date; she appears in Venus Beauty Institute as Aunt Maryse.
