The TV family has come a long way from, "Hi, honey, I'm home."
HBO's "Six Feet Under" gives us a new, twisted variation on the theme: "Hi, honey, I'm dead." The Fishers are a family that makes their living through dying.
If "The Sopranos" presents a dysfunctional mobster clan, "Six Feet Under" is the story of a dysfunctional mortuary clan. Actually, the flat final episode of this season's "Sopranos" provided a neat opening for "Six Feet Under" as Jackie Aprile Jr. lay out in a casket while mourners wept.
