May 30--We've got skyrocketing gas prices. We've got sky-high rents at much of the Jersey Shore. And the economy is as gloomy as the skies over the beach most of this Memorial Day weekend.
What to do? Think big!
Travel agents say it might cost less this year to build your tan in Cancun, Mexico, or cruise in the Caribbean than a week or two at Stone Harbor or Harvey Cedars.
Randy Cain, Philadelphia regional manager for Liberty Travel, says it's cheaper right now to travel internationally than to spend time down the shore.
