PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local ARAK PETROCHEMICAL, a subsidiary of the state-owned NATIONAL PETROCHEMICAL CO. (NPC) currently operates an ethylene plant with an installed production capacity of 240,000 metric tons per year (mt/y) at Arak in Iran. And, the company recently retained the services of France-based TECHNIP to undertake an upgrade project.
According to the terms of the award, TECHNIP will be responsible for expanding output by another 60,000 mt/y. The project, of undisclosed cost, is scheduled for completion in about 30 months.
