Pilot Clinical Studies in Colorectal and Potentially Other Cancers

Celgene Corporation (Nasdaq: CELG) announced today that investigators have initiated two clinical studies to evaluate THALOMID(R) (thalidomide) in combination with XELODA(R) (capecitabine). XELODA, the first oral chemotherapy for the treatment of colorectal cancer, is indicated as first-line treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer when treatment with fluoropyrimidine therapy alone is preferred.
