May 30--When Jennifer Loffredo gives the dog a bone, it's likely one made with peanut butter or oatmeal, flavored with honey and coated with carob.
Loffredo is owner and chief baker of Bone-A-Fido's Doggie Bakery. The bakery at 6535 Kingston Pike is for and about dogs, with a few treats for cats tossed in. Bones -- and bagels, brownies, pretzels and muffins -- are made with a canine twist using natural ingredients.
Dogs are invited to come with human owners to the bakery, where they'll likely be greeted by Thespis, Loffredo's 8-year-old golden retriever. ...
