ROANOKE ISLAND -- For more than half his life, Robert Midgette has spent his summers performing in ``The Lost Colony'' play. And for most of those years, he has played one of the best roles in the production.
Midgette, 50, has been Manteo for the past 22 years, a record-setter even for the nation's longest-running outdoor symphonic drama. As the fierce Algonkian who befriended the English, Midgette has dazzled audiences with convincing fight scenes and honorable demeanor.
