An interview with Sharon Creech
SHARON CREECH, winner of the Newbery Award for Walk two moons, uses her family and her experiences to craft her stories of teens searching for self and place. Sharon's characters are slightly eccentric, always interesting, and usually exploring new places and ideas. Storytelling is a tool that advances the plot in most of Creech's books and adds depth to the characters. She also uses humor to explore difficult family dynamics in all her stories and the pain of loss and the uncertainty of new places and experiences never become unbearable.
