A SCOTTISH husband and wife team were celebrating yesterday after uncovering what is believed to be one of the richest wrecks in maritime history.
Alexander Crawford, 52, and his wife Moya, 42, claim to have discovered a ship containing the multimillion-pound treasure of the Maharajah of Kapurthala.
The Royal Mail steamship, which was carrying Egyptian coins and precious gems as well as gold and silver bullion bars worth around [pound]20million, was sunk by a German torpedo in the Mediterranean Sea in 1916.
Its location remained a secret and its vast treasures lay untouched for 85 years, despite a number of efforts to trace it in deep ...
