Article: Quilting group sews security blankets for some needy kids.(Neighbor)

The Mount Prospect Historical Society's sewing circle understands that few childhood possessions enjoy the kind of lasting attachment often devoted to security blankets.

With that in mind, the sewing group will donate dozens of handmade quilts this month to severely ill and traumatized children around the world, said Rachel Toeppen, quilting chairwoman.

The quilts were made over the course of several months by members of the Sew Bee It quilting circle, which meets the third Monday of each month at the historical society building, 101 S. Maple St.
