Andersen Settles in Sunbeam Case
According to published reports, Andersen, formerly called Arthur Andersen, has agreed to pay $110 million in order to settle a fraud suit related to accounting work provided for Sunbeam Corp.
As part of the settlement, Sunbeam, which has been operating under Chapter 11 protection since Feb. 6.
Guilford Reports 2nd-Quarter Loss
Guilford Mills incurred a net loss of $16.9 million for the second quarter ended March 31, compared with net income of $2.8 million in last year's second quarter. Net sales for the quarter fell 21.2 percent to $166.3 million.
