THE stamps the Queen is selling from her world-famous collection were revealed to collectors today.
They include a penny black on a wrapper sent from Liverpool to Abergavenny on 6 May, 1840 - the day Britain introduced the postal service to the world.
The coveted first day issue is expected to fetch up to [pound]8,000 and is among up to [pound]400,000-worth of British and Empire stamps from the Royal Philatelic Collection to go under the hammer at Spink auctioneers in London on 17 May.
