Jun. 7--The confessional season has begun.
As they do four times a year, companies will guide Wall Street on what to expect in quarterly earnings reports due after the current quarter.
Charles Hill, research director at earnings forecast tracker First Call/Thomson Financial, has said that companies, not stock analysts who cover them, "own" their own short-term earnings forecasts.
