Doug Foster: Moving Mother Jones into the '90s
San Francisco--If Mother Jones is going yuppie, management made an odd choice for editor to head up the magazine's February redesign.
Doug Foster, at 34, is certainly of the age to be a yuppie editor, but that's about as far as the parallels go. He's an investigative reporter who has framed his short career from interviews with Neo-Nazis, illegal aliens and a whole range of fringe characters. And he disputes the yuppie label tacked onto Mother Jones' February redesign by the general press, such as Time, The Los Angeles Times and The New York Times.
