DAVID Coulthard's hopes of striking back in his battle for World Championship glory were given a boost in Canada yesterday.
The 30 year old Scot had to settle for second place in the opening practice session for tomrrow's race on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.
But Coulthard was just 0.4 seconds adrift of team-mate Mika Hakkinen as the McLaren-Mercedes pair dominated their rivals with a pace that matched the blistering weather.
