For theater sisters Erica and Annelise Christ, collaboration on the play "First Lady" did not mean expectations of automatic success.
Erica, who wrote and coproduced the one-person show under the auspices of Cheap Theatre, had faith that Annelise could conjure up all the characters, including the late Argentine first lady Eva Peron. They both thought they could intuit the nuances and abrupt turns in this play about poverty and power in Argentina, now playing at the Playwrights' Center.
And sure, they had collaborated on this same project six years ago, to a hearty reception.
