Jun. 12--Evanston Northwestern Healthcare's finances long have been the envy of cash-strapped non-profit hospital operators in the Chicago area.
These days, Evanston Northwestern's balance sheet also might make executives of investor-owned companies turn green.
Evanston Northwestern, parent of three hospitals on the affluent North Shore, has maintained cash and unrestricted investments of $1.1 billion, according to a recent report by Moody's Investors Service of New York.
