Jun. 11--Think Down to Earth, and you likely picture the Eugene company's pair of gardening, gift and housewares stores.
There's the daddy Down to Earth, with its dark, wide-planked wooden floors, lofty exposed-beam ceilings and mix of the useful and the beautiful in the historic Farmers Union Building since spring 1986.
And there's the junior store, filled with a smaller range of the eclectic merchandise, opened October 2000 in south Eugene.
But Down to Earth has another arm, one that reaches across the country, from Hawaii to Alaska to New York ...
