There is something about Coors Field that brings out the worst in some of baseball's best managers.
It's a ballpark where conventional wisdom isn't wise because the game is anything but conventional.
Since Coors Field opened in 1995, 21 managers have sat in the visitors dugout for at least 20 games.
Among them is St. Louis manager Tony La Russa, who went into Sunday with a 9-18 record (.333) at Coors Field. Only Jim Fregosi (3-7, .300) with Philadelphia in 1995-96; Jim Leyland (5-18, .217) with Pittsburgh in 1995-96 and Florida in 1997-98; and Dallas Green (2-9, .182) with the New York Mets in 1995-96 have had ...
