Auger boring is one of the oldest methods of trenchless construction - a procedure in use long before the term "trenchless technology" was introduced.
While other trenchless procedures attract more attention, auger boring remains a dependable, economical way to make crossings beneath highways, railroad tracks and other surface obstacles, and it still is widely used today.
