GOV. GARDNER URGES TOURISTS FROM WESTERN WASHINGTON TO TAKE
ALTERNATE ROUTE TO METHOW VALLEY UNTIL ROCK SLIDE CLEARED
OLYMPIA, Wash., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Tourists need not change their travel plans to the Methow Valley because of the rock slide blocking the North Cascades Highway, Gov. Booth Gardner said today.
"There's more than one beautiful route leading to the recreational areas in the Methow Valley," said Gardner. "Don't change your plans -- just take another one of our state's scenic highways."
