Maybe someday, we'll be able to get anywhere in the world instantaneously, like in "Star Trek."
When the day arrives that we can travel to Queens, Queenstown, or Queensland via ionic transporter, the concept of jet lag will be as obsolete as using leeches to cure headaches.
Until that far-off day, though, jet lag remains a troublesome by-product of travel, a malady that can all but ruin the first few days of a trip to Rome, Reykjavik, or Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
