Jun. 13--With about two weeks left until regional carrier Horizon Air stops shipping cargo, businesses are scrambling to find alternate ways of sending out goods.
Horizon announced in letters sent to cargo customers at the beginning of this month that it will no longer fly cargo after June 25. The airline will fly packages weighing less than 100 pounds -- at a higher price.
The decision affects businesses selling a wide range of perishable goods, such as dogs, fish bait, flowers, mushrooms and feeder mice for pet stores.
