The community response to the death of Aaron Roberts reminds me of the marked difference in perception of the O.J. Simpson trial and verdict.

At that time people were stunned that white Americans and black Americans, generally speaking, had such a different take on the verdict of acquittal.

In the wake of Aaron Roberts' death after being stopped by Seattle police, the differences in perception have again been evident.

At least some whites, in letters to the editor and talk-show comments, say that blacks want or expect special treatment.
