AKRON-Goodyear plans to introduce by the fourth quarter a hose assembly system designed to prevent transfer spills in petroleum and chemical operations.
The company also is marketing an update to its Galaxy-brand automotive air conditioning hose, which should appear on some 2002 model cars.
The hose assembly system-to be produced initially at the Akron tire and rubber product maker's Quebec hose manufacturing facility-is the crux of an agreement finalized in January with Smart-Hose Inc.'s Smart-Hose Technologies unit.
