Jun. 15--Officials of the Illinois Department of Transportation say Peotone, their proposed location for a new airport to serve the Chicago region, is about 32 miles from downtown Chicago as the crow flies.
IDOT officials might want to rethink that assertion.
Maps show that it is really 35 miles from Chicago's Loop, but no person driving a car can make it in that. Going by car takes 45 miles.
