Jun. 12--Once upon a time, a bull and a bear played together in a stock market.
While the terms "bull" and "bear market," are common parlance, not many people know where the terms come from.
"Basically, a bull market is one that is a rising market, and a bear market is a falling market," said Landon Roberts, branch manager for First Union Securities in Amarillo.
Roberts, like many stock brokers, said he wasn't sure where the terms came from.
