President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is scheduled to visit Palawan, Zamboanga, and Basilan today in the hope of finding a permanent solution to problems with the rebel group Abu Sayyaf which is holding several persons, including three Americans, as hostages in Basilan.
After attending a thanksgiving mass in Malacanang this morning, the President is expected to fly to Zamboanga City where a helicopter will bring her and some of her senior security advisers to Lamitan, Basilan.
The President is expected to inspect the government's rehabilitation efforts in the damaged St. Peter's Church and Jose Torres Memorial Hospital, the two institutions commandeered by ...
