With the electronic trading era redefining the ways that exchanges use their trading space, the London Stock Exchange last week confirmed its move to new premises in the City of London, quashing suggestions that the exchange might move out of the heart of London's financial district to Canary Wharf in London's Docklands.
The exchange announced some time ago that it wanted to move out from its existing facilities at Exchange Tower-where it occupies 62 percent of the floor space-because the building no longer meets the requirements of the business.
