MINNEAPOLIS -- Northwest Airlines (NASDQ: NWAC) announced today that it has withdrawn its proposal to acquire the outstanding shares of Mesaba Holdings, Inc. not already owned by Northwest, and has terminated further discussions with Mesaba regarding the proposed transaction. Northwest made the proposal for the stock purchase on November 1, 2000.
