If brushing your teeth is one of the first things you do after waking up, state government is a part of your morning.
The tap water you use is presumed safe because state health officials enforce state and federal drinking-water laws.
If you had eggs for breakfast, state food inspectors had checked them for quality and wholesomeness before they reached your table.
And if you stopped for gas on the drive to work, the gallon measure should have been accurate, thanks to state inspectors from the Public Service Department.
